Product Description:

Pearls are stunning, highly sought-after jewels that develop inside the shells of some mollusks, notably oysters and mussels. For millennia, people have valued these diamonds for their inherent beauty and grace. Here are some essential pearl facts:

  1. Pearl formation occurs when an irritant, such as a minute particle of sand or a fragment of mantle tissue, becomes caught inside a mollusk’s shell. In reaction to the irritant, the mollusc secretes layers of nacre, often known as mother-of-pearl, all around the irritant. These nacre layers accumulate over time, forming a pearl.
  1. Pearl sorts: There are two main sorts of pearls:
  • Natural Pearls: When an irritant enters the mollusk spontaneously, pearls emerge without human interference. Natural pearls are extremely uncommon and costly owing to their scarcity and one-of-a-kind forms and hues.
  • Cultured pearls are created with the use of human intervention. To induce pearl creation, pearl farmers introduce an irritant (usually a tiny bead or fragment of mantle tissue) into the mollusc. Most pearls on the market today are cultivated pearls.

  • Pearls are relatively delicate and may be scratched or destroyed easily. They should be kept separate from other jewelry and should not be exposed to harsh chemicals or scents. A gentle, wet towel should be used to clean.
